The Eastern Cape Health Department has been criticised for what some have labelled as poor handling of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Yes, the Department has had challenges like any other province because this pandemic is new to us all, but at all times our objective has always been to save people's lives.
Our dedicated health workers have really gone above and beyond the call of duty during this challenging time.
The department has reported the fault to the local municipality as the burst pipe is affecting the whole neighborhood, not just EMS station.
As a contingency, the department has relocated the staff and vehicles to Boesmansriviermond fire department station, and the Port Alfred hospital.
The service will remain open and available for the people of Ndlambe Municipality.
Schools and community members in and around the ELundini Sub-District in the Joe Gabi District benefitted as the MEC for Health Ms Sindiswa Gomba donated to the needy during the 2020 back to school programme. The week long programme took place from Monday 20 – Friday 24 January 2020 and was aimed at playing an oversight role as well as inculcating a culture of learning in schools in the province.
